Pennsylvania residents can register to vote online, by mail, or in person. The state does not offer same-day voter registration, so make sure to register before the deadline.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Be a U.S. citizen for at least one month before the election.
- Be a resident of Pennsylvania and your election district for at least 30 days before Election Day.
- Be at least 18 years old on or before Election Day.
- Not be incarcerated for a felony conviction.
Registration Methods:
- Online Registration:
- Register online through the Pennsylvania Online Voter Registration System.
- You will need a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license, PennDOT ID, or the last four digits of your Social Security number.
- By Mail:
- Complete the Pennsylvania Voter Registration Application.
- Mail the completed form to your county voter registration office. A list of county offices is available on the PA Department of State website.
- In Person:
- Register in person at your county election office, PennDOT driver’s license centers, or other authorized government offices.
Registration Deadline:
- The deadline to register is 15 days before Election Day, whether you register online, by mail, or in person.

- You can check your voter registration status using the Voter Registration Status Tool on the Pennsylvania Department of State’s website.
